To the rhythm of nature: Sunrise hike to the Kreuzjoch

The sunrise on the mountain is a magnificent natural spectacle and an unforgettable experience! Most of the way uphill is by shuttle, followed by an early morning hike to the Kreuzjoch viewing platform. You will be rewarded with a spectacular sunrise and a unique panoramic view. Afterwards you can look forward to a delicious mountain breakfast at the Moschwald Alm.

Route: Shuttle bus to the Vöraner Alm - Kreuzjoch - Kreuzjöchl - Moschwald Alm (breakfast) - Hafling village

Start: depending on the sunrise in Hafling village with the shuttle/exit in Vöran possible
Return: approx. 11.00 a.m.
Altitude difference: approx. 250 ↑, 850 ↓ | Length: 11.5 km
Walking time: approx. 3 ½ hours
Cost: €30.00 for adults aged 16 and over (incl. shuttle and breakfast); €15.00 for children/young people.
Participants: min. 4 persons - limited number of participants
What to bring: good walking shoes, drink, headlamp

In case of rain in the morning before the start, the hike will not take place.

Approach

Coming from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano - Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo until Hafling Dorf (next to the parish church).
