In 1317, Merano was granted the status of town by Duke Henry of Carinthia. The 700th anniversary of this historic event is marked all year with a richly varied program of events.
The program titled 700xM was planned and created for locals and visitors alike. It comprises conferences, concerts, musical performances, exhibitions and much more besides. Merano’s schools, clubs and institutions all made active contributions to the program.
Presented at Merano’s Puccini Theater, the Meran007 video mapping show vividly evokes the most thrilling moments in Merano’s 700-year history. State-of-the-art projection technology and breathtaking special effects make the past tangible in the present, drawing the audience into the events shown.
During the show, 3D lighting effects and images are projected onto the Puccini Theater’s interior, animating the surfaces of the stage, the stalls and the boxes, in stunning fashion. The audiovisual performance is accompanied by an original soundtrack, written expressly for the Meran007 project.
