Guided electric mountain bike tour around Meran/Merano with spectacular views

General short description:
Enjoy wonderful panoramic views, unique sights and in passing learn a bit about the country and its people. There are plenty of highlights along the route of this approx. 3-hour long tour: the Forst Brewery, the little Stilfser Joch, Tirol Castle, a Porsche tractor museum, the Passeier Valley cycle path, Meran with its racecourse, and finally the countless vineyards and Meran Wine Cellars in Marling/Marlengo.

Route:
Meeting place and start of the tour is Marling Tourist Information Office in the centre of the village (parking available for a charge). From there we ride along Panoramastrasse to the Forst Brewery, Italy’s largest. Heading slightly uphill we pedal to the entrance to the Vinschgau/Venosta Valley, Töll/Tel. Past the impressive hydroelectric station, we roll along over what is fondly referred to by bikers as the little Stilfser Joch to Algund/Lagundo. On the way to Meran we have a wonderful view of the three imposing castles of Tirol, Brunnenburg and Thurnstein; the short ride up to Dorf Tirol/Tirolo is strenuous but extremely worthwhile. Next we cross the Finele valley to Kuens/Caines on the Tirolersteig path, which includes views of the Earth Pyramids. At this point we enjoy a well-deserved break for a cappuccino. If you want, you can also check out the Porsche tractor museum too. There’s a big playground and a petting zoo for kids.
Feeling invigorated after our break, we now roll on over the little-used road to the Passeier Valley cycle trail and towards the valley exit through Sissi Park to Meran. We have the opportunity to see the loveliest parts of the town from the cycle paths and afterwards pass the enormous racecourse on the way back to Marling. After passing the Meran Wine Cellars we find ourselves back at the starting point again.
