Around the spa town of Merano/Meran, there are numerous popular and accessible hiking areas, as well as in the nearby Texelgruppe Nature Park between Val Senales/Schnalstal Valley and Val Passiria/Passeiertal Valley. With its dense forests, barren high alpine plateaus and clear mountain lakes, the Texelgruppe Nature Park is one of the most beautiful hiking areas in South Tyrol.

In addition, there is also the Hirzer hiking region and the plateau below the mighty Ifinger mountain, the historic Val d’Ultimo/Ultental Valley with its old farms, and the extensive hiking area of Schwemmalm reaching to the Stilfserjoch National Park.
