The Merano Spring (Meraner Frühling in German) festival is unique to South Tyrol/Südtirol. From late June to early March, there is a fruitful dialogue between art and nature in the spa town of Merano/Meran.

The Merano Spring (Meraner Frühling in German) festival is unique to South Tyrol/Südtirol. From late June to early March, there is a fruitful dialogue between art and nature in the spa town of Merano/Meran. Landscape artists from around the world display installations along the promenades and in the green areas of the city.

Nature and culture also merge in harmonious union within other monuments in South Tyrol, such as the Knottnkino open-air cinema in Avelengo/Hafling, the Trauttmansdorffer Thronsessel sculpture at Lagundo/Algund, the Thunscher Gucker in the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle and along the Skulpturenweg sculpture hiking trail in Lana. The installations along the Timmelsjoch mountain pass road in Val Passiria/Passeiertal Valley offer insight into the culture of a border region, including smuggler’s paths and panoramic trails – together they form the Timmelsjoch Experience.
