Postbrücke
Postbrücke

The new Postbrücke was built in 1890 and in 1909 it received contemporary grape-shaped decorative elements and trellis covered with gold leaf. On the four corner pillars of the bridge you can admire several mosaic inlays, including the double eagle of the Austro-Hungaric Empire, the Tyrolean eagle and the Merano coat of arms. During Fascism, these mosaic ornaments were chiselled out and restored only a few years ago, faithful to the original.
