Moor larch museum in the "Thalerhof"

A new sightseeing destination in the Burggrafenamt is the recently opened Moorlärche Nature Museum in Lana. It exhibits a tree trunk over 7,000 years old, the whitewash of Weißenstein, together with an extensive art gallery of works of art and art objects from the wood of the Moor larch.

The moor larch is a huge tree trunk, which was excavated in 2011 near Maria Weißenstein in a moor meadow. The art gallery includes classic wood art to small art jewelery and artisan masterpieces created by a group of local, national and international artists and craftsmen from the strange and mysterious wood of Moor larch.

Another attraction is occasional events and in particular art exhibitions "360 °" in the largest and lowest located vault of the residence, the so-called gallery "keller5" dar.
