The Algunder Waalweg irrigation channel pathway from Partschins/Parcines to Meran/o

General description

The Algund irrigation channel pathway, or Waalweg, is a 10 km long path running alongside the old irrigation channel. Flat and even almost all the way, the trail boasts incredible views over the Meran/o area and leads you through Plars, Algund/Lagundo village and Gratsch/Quarazze until you get to the Saint Magdalena Chapel and then along the Tappeiner path to Meran/o city.

SFrom the center of Partschins (Franz von Goldeggstraße) path no. 10A past orchards over the Töllgraben to Oberplars (district of Algund). Turn right before the "Köstenwaldele" and follow path no. 10 downhill towards the center of Oberplars. Turn left on the road to the bus stop, continue past the "Schnalshuberhof" inn to the entrance of the Waalweg. Follow the Algunder Waalweg to Gratsch (a district of Meran). The Waalweg ends with a suspension bridge. A little further down the road to the entrance to the Tappeinerweg, one of the most famous walking paths in Meran! Descent to Meran.

Due to the limited parking facilities in the municipality of Parcines and in the spirit of sustainability, as well as the protection of the Parcines recreational area, we ask you to use public transport. Thank you very much!
