Again in 2018 selected establishments in Merano and Val Venosta will be offering typical autumn fare and regional products. As part of the “Autumn Indulgence” culinary weeks, you can discover specialities and typical South Tyrolean dishes that are made using fresh, regionally sourced ingredients.
From 1st to 29th October Tirolo’s hospitality establishments will be taking part in speciality weeks based on the theme of the pumpkin, a local autumnal product.
In days gone by the pumpkin was considered to be poor man’s fare or animal feed, but today no kitchen is complete without it. This versatile vegetable can be roasted, grilled, steamed, gratinated, boiled, preserved or puréed, among other things. The pumpkin is a healthy ingredient that strengthens the immune system and can also be beneficial for the cardiovascular system.
