Street Market of Regional Delicacies in Lana

Gourmet delights at the Blossom Festival on 07.04.2018

Now in its tenth year, the Street Market of Regional Delicacies (Bäuerliche Genussmeile) market is one of the major attractions of the Blossom Festival (Blütenfesttage) and is held in the center of Lana. High-quality local products can be tried and purchased directly at the stalls.

As in previous years, the main emphasis of the event is on the freshness and high quality of local, seasonal produce, which is guaranteed by the Roter Hahn label of the Farmers Union of South Tyrol. Featuring a children’s activity program including an inflatable castle and creativity corner, the entertainment-packed event in the pedestrian zone of Lana guarantees enjoyment for visitors of all ages.

On the 7th of April the pedestrian area of Lana will be converted into a farmer's mile of indulgence with about 50 farmer's and food booths. Local producers will sell quality products such as fruit, honey, herbs and spices as well as bacon, cheese, wine and spirits in the framework of this feast of culinary delights. There will also be tastings in order to make this farmer's mile of indulgence in the centre of town (Gries) a truly culinary highlight. This way, consumers, who value fair trade and the quality of natural regional produce, can carry out their own personal "quality control" and exchange or broaden their knowledge with local sellers.

The market and farmer's booths of the mile of indulgence located in the town centre will be complemented by food booths giving the market its festive character. With refined and newly interpreted plain fare visitors can enjoy exquisite specialities from the traditional country kitchen of South Tyrol such as "Schlutzkrapfen", dumplings in all variations, barley soup or the popular farmer's crullers.
