Kuenser Waalweg Hike from Dorf Tirol / Tirolo

This easy, family-friendly hike takes you past orchards through the mixed woodland above Dorf Tirol and Kuens along the Kuenser Waalweg, or irrigation channel path, as far as the Longfall Inn.

The hike begins at the Tiroler Kreuz restaurant. From there it follows the forest track towards Longfall. Just before reaching Longfall the track turns off to the right along the Kuens irrigation channel path to the Mutlechnerhof. Here it continues downhill on a tarmacked road until another track branches off to the right towards Dorf Tirol. Having reached a clearing, it continues to the right as far as the bridge. After the bridge, a short ascent follows to just above Auer Castle. From
there return to the village centre.

Along the Bolzano/Bozen-Meran/Merano expressway to the exit Meran South-Sinich/Sinigo - Dorf Tirol/Tirolo - along the main street to the tourist information association (main street 31).

Chargeable parking just down from the tourist information association near the turn-off onto Aichweg.

Take bus 221 from Merano to Dorf Tirol bus station in the centre of the village.

With the tourist bus 222 from Dorf Tirol bus station as far as the Mühlanger bus stop.
