Merano 2000 Ski School

History and organisation

Five instructors founded the Avelengo Ski School in 1966 on the Monzoccolo Plateau above Merano.

Two years later, a new ski area—now called Merano 2000—officially opened, thanks to the brilliant pioneering achievement of the legendary Hans Trojer, who was a trailblazer in winter sports. The name of the school was subsequently connected to the name of the newly opened ski area: Meran 2000 Ski School.

Since opening in 1968, the Meran 2000 ski area has striven to provide the best services possible. The services offered by its ski school have thus been continuously expanded and improved. Particular focus has always been directed towards ski lessons for children. Merano 2000’s most recent addition is the unique recreation area for kids called Lucki’s Kinderland, which fulfils everything a child’s heart desires.
