Historical tour In Italian: The Stories of Jewish Women in Merano
10/17/2026 15:00 - 16:30
Starting from Piazza della Rena, we will follow in the footsteps of the Jewish women who lived in Merano. The historian Antonella Tiburzi will recount their stories, which are often characterised by pioneering roles in male-dominated fields, such as education and work. For far too long, their achievements, their life journeys (and struggles for survival) and their murders have remained invisible in the city’s collective memory.
Approach
If you are at Merano train station, we recommend taking bus line 1 or 4 to the "Elisabeth Park" stop. From there it is a 3-minute walk to the Piazza della Rena.
