This scenic circular hike leads from the village centre of Partschins to the mountain hamlet of Vellau along the historic Saxnerweg trail. The route crosses the Töllgraben, which marks the western boundary between the municipalities of Partschins and Algund, and offers a varied natural landscape. A rewarding hike for walkers interested in nature, history and gentle panoramic views.

Partschins center – Gaudententurm residence – Töllgraben – Saxnerweg trail (26A) – Vellau – Kienegger trail (26) – Saxnerweg trail – Partschins center
Route description
The hike starts in the village center of Partschins. The path passes the Gaudententurm residence, home to a farm distillery offering regular tastings, and continues along trail 10B across the Töllgraben, the natural boundary between Partschins and Algund.
After crossing the Töllgraben, the route follows the Saxnerweg trail (26A), which climbs steadily through woodland and cultivated landscapes to Vellau (906 m). A short walk along the asphalt road leads to the Vellau church, a peaceful spot with lovely views.
The return route follows the Kienegger trail (26), which reconnects with the Saxnerweg trail and leads back to Partschins, completing the circular hike.
