Exciting racing bike trips along the Etsch river

Thanks to its relatively mild climate preparations for the cycle racing season in Parcines/Partschins already start in February. The Etschradweg cycle track along the ancient Via Claudia Augusta has a total of 80 km from Rablà/Rabland to the Reschensee lake through the Val Venosta/Vinschgau Valley, with a vertical altitude difference of almost 1,000m. The ascent up the legendary Stilfserjoch mountain pass, the highest in Italy and part of the thrilling Giro d’Italia cacling race, are not to be missed.
Legendary Alpine passes in a class of their own for road bikers in South Tyrol are also the Passo Palade/Gampen Pass, the Passo della Mendola/Mendel Pass and the Passo Giovo/Jaufen Pass and the Passo del Rombo/Timmelsjoch.
Many other panoramic tours in the Merano region attract road bike cracks, for example a tour to Mölten/Meltina and Hafling/Avelengo, to the South Tyrolean lowlands at Lake Kaltern along the Weinstraße/Strada del vino (Wine Road), to the Schnalstal/Val Senales Valley, Passeiertal/Val Passiria Valley or Ultental/Val D'Ultim Valley, the Bolzano-Lana-Tisens-Nals Castle Tour and many more.

The Ötzi Bike Academy organizes guided tours on racing bicycles from Parcines up the scenic mountain passes as far as the magnificent Garda Lake.
