Did you know?
The Franz Huber Trail is named after the Merano mountaineer Franz Huber (1875–1941).
Huber was an important pioneer of alpine exploration in the Texel Group and a long-standing board member of the Merano section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club (DuÖAV). He played a key role in developing alpine infrastructure around the Lodnerhütte hut and the Hochganghaus hut.
The trail was dedicated to him in recognition of his significant contributions to mountaineering in the region.
