Gastronomy in Schnalstal Valley

The restaurants in Schnalstal Valley serve South Tyrolean specialties such as Knödelsuppe (dumpling soup), Hirschgulasch (venison goulash) and Kaiserschmarrn (traditional pancakes), as well as Mediterranean and international dishes.

Several mountain inns in Schnalstal Valley have received the Real Quality in the Mountains award, including the Mitterkaser Alm and Rableid Alm mountain huts in Val di Fosse/Pfossental Valley, the Mastaun Alm, the Finailhof and the Similaunhütte mountain huts in Vernago/Vernagt, and the Schöne Aussicht mountain hut in Maso Corto/Kurzras.

Since 2014, the Oberraindlhof restaurant was even awarded top honors by the restaurant guide Gault & Millau each year.
