In Meran/Merano en omgeving bevinden zich talrijke bezienswaardigheden, zoals de oude Romeinse weg Via Claudia Augusta, de bijzondere archeologische vindplaats van de wereldberoemde gletsjermummie Ötzi in Schnalstal valley en de 2000 jaar oude lariksbomen in Ultental valley. De fresco’s van St. Prokulus in Naturns/Naturno dateren uit de zevende eeuw. En dan zijn er nog de bijzondere bergkerken, zoals de pelgrimskerk in Unsere Frau/Madonna, de bergkerk van St. Kathrein en de Wetterkirche op de Vigiljoch.

Relatief nieuw zijn daarentegen de tuinen van het kasteel Trauttmansdorff, ten oosten van Meran. Hier zijn meer dan 80 tuinlandschappen uit de hele wereld te zien. Ook erg populair zijn uitstapjes naar hedendaagse reisdoelen als het openluchtkunstwerk Knottkino in Vöran/Verano, hoog boven Meran.
