Sustainability certification

SOUTH TYROL SUSTAINABILITY LABEL

The South Tyrol Sustainability Label is aligned with the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). IDM South Tyrol has crafted a set of indicators and criteria for this certification, which are categorized into four pillars: Sustainable Management, Socioeconomic Sustainability, Cultural Sustainability, and Environmental Sustainability.

Accommodation and food service establishments can also showcase their commitment to sustainability through nine criteria. The path to earning the “South Tyrol Sustainability Label” involves internationally recognized certificates. From waste reduction and wheelchair-accessible hotel areas to resource-efficient construction: the extent of these initiatives are distinguished by three different levels. The third and highest level is “GSTC- recognised”, and achieves international recognition.
