Cross country ski run in Walten

The cross-country ski run at the bottom of the valley traverses undulating meadows. Devoid of difficult ascents, the long descent runs down a moderate incline.

Thanks to its 3 km length and minimal elevation difference, the Walten cross-country ski run is well suited to both children and learners. However, the trail also attracts more advanced skiers for its fast laps. In just a few minutes, you can reach the trail from Walten/Valtina from where it takes only 10 min to St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo (± 10 km). The cross-country ski run remains open and is free of charge.

Info: On the way to the Hofschenke Auerhof Tavern and back, you need to cross a snow-covered road.

Directions

The Walten cross-country ski trail runs along the valley floor below the village of Walten, crossing gently rising meadows. Start directly from the car park and follow the trail around a wide loop across a meadow on the left-hand side of the valley, looking downstream.

After completing this loop, cross a bridge to reach the right-hand side of the valley, where you will find the Winterpark Stockit. From there, follow the trail further into the valley until you reach the vicinity of the Hofschenke Auerhof.

After a loop, the trail briefly heads back out of the valley before turning towards the valley head again. The gentle climb ends before an isolated farmhouse. You then follow a wide loop back towards the valley entrance.

Glide back to the starting point along a gentle descent. The route is predominantly downhill, with just one short, easy climb along the way.
