Summer at the Schwemmalm

South Tyrol's most traditional hiking area

The Schwemmalm lies in the heart of the Ultental Valley, high above the village of Pracupola/Kuppelwies. It is probably the most rustic Alpine pasture area in South Tyrol and well-known for its beautiful mountain huts made of sun-tanned larch wood, at which local innkeepers serve traditional dishes of the Ultental Valley. The extensive area can be reached by cable car from Pracupola in just a few minutes.
Easy and medium-level hiking trails for the entire family begin right at the mountain station. These lead through dense forests over natural flowering meadows and up to mountain lakes and panoramic peaks.
Parents will appreciate in particular the easy circular trail, suitable for prams, and the small Adventure Pond located on the Schwemmalm.
