Slopes and ski lifts in the Schwemmalm ski area

Active holidaymakers can find here an overview of the open lifts and slopes at the Schwemmalm ski area in Ultental Valley.
The slopes are ideal for beginners and experts alike, and are connected by a modern cable car and four chair lifts.
A challenge for experts is the Mutegg slope, leading from the 2,658 meter high summit Mutegg to the Äußere Schwemmalm mountain hut at 2,160 meters.
Ski beginners and small ski guests can take advantage of the easy slopes at the ski school at the Breiteben mountain station.

The opening hours of the slopes and lifts may change at short notice due to weather conditions. The following information is therefore not guaranteed.

Chairlift

The 2-seater chairlift Breiteben takes skiers and pedestrians directly from the car park to Breiteben. There you will find the Ultental ski school, the Ultental ski rental and two restaurants. The chairlift is only open in winter.

Gondola ropeway
The Schwemmalm cable car takes skiers, hikers, bikers and paragliders from the valley station near the village of Kuppelwies up to the Schwemmalm at 2,100 meters above sea level.
Perfectly groomed slopes with guaranteed snow in winter and numerous easy and challenging hiking trails in summer start right at the mountain station.

In the coming 2024/2025 winter season, skiers in the Schwemmalm ski area can look forward to a new, innovative and comfortable lift system: the new detachable 6pers. “Schwemmeregg” (detachable) chairlift with bubble will replace the 4-seater chairlift from 1997.

Cross-country skiers will get their money’s worth on the perfectly groomed trails in the Ultental valley. The route offers an environment sure to please cross-country ski enthusiasts. It passes by woods set deep in snow, the frozen Falschauer river, as well as centuries old farmhouses. With gentle inclines and descents, the conditions are perfect even for beginners. The trail is very diverse and offering the possibility to skate or do classic cross-country skiing.
