On the sunny plateau of Tesimo-Prissiano

The holiday area Tisens-Prissian is located half way between Meran and Bolzano on a high plateau about 630m above sea level. The landscape is characterized by lush apple orchards, fertile vineyards and the famous chestnut groves.

While the apple orchards impress in spring with their sea of blossoms, you can admire the largest and probably oldest vine in the world, the Versoalen vine in front of the Castel Katzenzungen, all year round.

Each autumn, the Keschtnriggl chestnut–festival in Tesimo/Tisens and Prissiano/Prissian along with the traditional custom of Törggelen, the popular gastronomic gathering in South Tyrol from October to late November treat you to some fine food.
The chestnut has been cultivated near the village of Tesimo/Tisens for centuries and was once an important staple food. Today, popular hiking trails pass through the meadows and forests, vineyards and chestnut groves of the seven villages of the community of Tesimo.
