Up into the mountains by bus and cable car
Around region Lana, public transport and mountain lifts work particularly well together. The bus takes you to the valley station, the cable car covers the first stretch of altitude and more time remains for walking, views and a break at a mountain hut.
Vigiljoch: region Lana’s local mountain
The valley station of the Vigiljoch cable car is only a few minutes’ walk from Lana bus station. In around six minutes, it carries you up to region Lana’s car-free local mountain. Gentle high-level walks and long alpine routes begin here.

Schwemmalm: alpine pastures and peaks in the Ultental Valley
Bus line 245 takes you to the Schwemmalm cable-car station in Kuppelwies. The gondola rises to around 2,100 metres, providing direct access to alpine meadows, high-level trails and panoramic summits.

Travel via Merano and take city bus line 1 or 1A to the Merano 2000 cable-car station in Naif. Above, a broad hiking area opens out, with mountain lakes, hut-to-hut trails and rocky summits.

Travel via Merano and take bus line 240 to Saltaus and the Hirzer cable-car station. From the upper station, paths cross alpine pastures and high ridges towards one of the most distinctive summits in the Merano area.
