But do you know what’s traditionally on the menu?Depending on the farm, the meal starts with barley soup or Schlutzkrapfen, our local filled pasta. Next comes a hearty platter of farmhouse sausages, cured pork, dumplings and sauerkraut, served with sweet grape must and young wine.To finish, there are sweet filled pastries and roasted chestnuts.Fun fact: many locals enjoy their chestnuts with fresh butter! Have you tried them this way?#meranocityvalleys #southtyrol #chestnuts #toerggeleseason #autumninsouthtyrol

The Women’s Museum Merano was founded in 1988 from Evelyn Ortner’s private collection of historical clothing and is one of Europe’s oldest women’s museums. Today, around 8,000 objects tell the story of women’s lives and changing roles from the French Revolution to the present day. Clothing, everyday objects and personal stories offer a different perspective on history and make the museum a place for exchange and new perspectives. #meranocityvalleys #southtyrol #frauenmuseum #womensmuseum #womenshistory
