Whether climbing a rock face or at the indoor gym, rock climbing is widely practiced in Lana and Environs. The most popular local rock gym is located in Tesimo/Tisens. Immersed in the woods, this rock wall has about 40 climbs of different lengths with difficulty levels ranging from 4 to 8a.
Other popular climbing destinations include the New Fragsburg and Burgstallknott rock gyms near Merano/Meran and Parcines/Partschins. The Juval rock gym near the village of Naturno/Naturns is ideal for children and beginners while, in case of rain, the indoor Rockarena gym in Via Palade/Gampenstraße street in Merano is an alternative.
