The Laugenspitze is the ideal destination for a beautiful mountain hike with views of the Ortler Group

General description

The Laugenspitze is with 2.434 meters the highest mountain of the Nonsberg group in South Tyrol. Its striking double peak consists of the big Laugen and the small Laugen. The peak is accessible by several marked hiking trails. The easiest of these paths leads over the gentle south ridge.

Route description

The path marked no. 10 branches off from the village center (turn off Badlweg - Bauernmuseum Völlan) and gradually ascends through meadows and bushes to Völlaner Badl. Mpw you are walk over a very steep forest road to Unterplatzers or Platzers and reach, always on an ascending forest path, the Platzer Jöchl.

Hiking through forests and meadows, the path leads you along the barren slopes of the mountain to the Laugenscharte. In front of you lies the charming Laugensee between the Great and the Small Laugenspitze. From here you will reach the summit of the Great Lye Peak via the North Ridge.

The way back is the same as the ascent.
