The roadway to the Taser has always been a classic for mountain bikers. After the construction of the forest road, which begins at the Taser, it is now possible to reach the extremely scenic mountain basin directly below the steeply rising peaks of the Ifinger and the Scheiber, by mountain bike.
The tour starts at the mini golf course in Scena. From there, follow Pichler Straße (look for the signs to “Taser”).
The climb is demanding and takes you past the valley station of the Taser cable car. Ride past the station and at the next junction keep right (left goes to Verdins). A short, steep section brings you to the next bend, where you turn right again uphill.
Next comes a left-hand and shortly after a right-hand hairpin bend. Immediately after the right-hand bend, you will see a small parking area on the left. Stay on the road and follow it up to a distinctive left-hand bend, then continue until just before the Taser Alm parking lot. Here, turn left onto the paved road that leads downhill to the Untertaserhof.
From there, continue past the farm and onto a wide forest road, which you follow uphill. At the first fork, turn right, and at the next junction keep left – from here, follow the forest road all the way to the Leiten Alm, your destination.
Drive to Schenna. Carry on past the bottleneck and continue straight at the next fork in the road (signed Taser), then turn right to the parking lot at the fire department.
