Wednesday will start off quite sunny. Clouds will increase in the afternoon, and in the evening a cold front will bring widespread rain, strong gusts of wind and a sharp drop in temperature. The snow line will fall below 1000 m. On Thursday, there will be plenty of clouds, accompanied by a strong, cold north wind. Initially, it will snow in the northern and eastern parts of the region; as the day progresses, the snow showers will retreat to the main Alpine ridge. The strong north wind will persist on Friday as well. Still a few snow showers along the border with North Tyrol, whilst further south the sun will make occasional appearances. Saturday is likely to bring a pleasant mix of sun and clouds. The gusty northerly foehn will persist.

Mountains

A weak influence of high pressure, combined with a northeasterly upper-level flow, will bring generally fair conditions.
In the southern mountain groups, skies will be mostly clear at first. As the day progresses, mostly harmless cumulus clouds will develop. Along the main Alpine ridge, there will be a mix of sunshine and cloud, and toward evening isolated snow showers may occur.

The high-pressure system will weaken, and this evening a cold front will move across the Alps from the north-west.
In the morning conditions will remain favourable with fairly sunny weather. In the afternoon, more clouds will appear, and in the evening a cold front will bring heavy showers in places, strong gusts of wind and a sharp drop in temperature.

Informatie bij het weerbericht

In internet zijn talloze weersites te vinden, die zogenaamd de juiste voorspellingen voor iedere plaats ter wereld aanbieden. Het zijn meestal automatische voorspellingen van een weercomputer en vaak betreffen de voorspellingen zelfs meerdere weken.

Onze weerberichten voor Zuid-Tirol worden door de meteorologische dienst van de autonome provincie Bolzano gemaakt. Het weerbericht wordt hierbij door geschoolde meteorologen opgesteld, die weliswaar ook van de bevindingen van computers als vertrekpunt gebruik maken, maar die de voorspellingen aan de hand van de lokale kenmerken van het gebied en hun ervaring verbeteren. Daarbij worden de voorspellingen tot maximaal één week beperkt, aangezien langer niet betrouwbaar is, vooral in een zodanig complex gebied als de Alpen.
