General description
At 2781m, the Punta Civina is the
highest summit in the
Val Sarentino Alps. Its location offers unforgettable views to reward the well-deserving hiker for their efforts.
Route description
In good weather, an early start with the Hirzer cable car to Klammeben is recommended. From the mountain station, you hike further to the Tallner Alm, and then begin the actual ascent to Hirzer: Initially through alpine meadows, then through karst fields, and finally over a rocky path, you reach the summit in about 2.5 hours. The return path follows the same route.
If you are a particularly experienced and sure-footed hiker, you can take the route over the Hönigspitze and Stafell and back to Klammeben for the return journey. With the cable car, you get back to Saltaus and from there by bus to Meran.
As an alternative, you can also use the Verdins - Tall cable car and the Grube chairlift. From here, it's a 30-minute walk to Klammeben.
