On the Nalles Rose Day, a distinctive scent pervades Nalles, when this magnificent flower is celebrated with pink-colored cakes, chocolates and wine.
In 2015 the numerous local rose varieties and their derivative products heralded the inauguration of the first Rose Day (Rosentag), with this delicate flower taking center stage in Nalles/Nals.
Organized by local farmers together with the Nalles Tourist Office and the local library, the event hosts 20 stands featuring food products, beverages, garden items, decorations and jewelry, all in celebration of the rose.
The rose also plays a significant role in the cuisine of Nalles, in the creation of products such as chocolate cake, rose-chocolate and even rose-wine. The Nals-Margreid Winery produces a Pink Muscat called Rote Rose (Red Rose).
