Les églises de Merano

Une ville pieuse et multiconfessionnelle

Les nombreux sites religieux et les églises de Merano/Meran témoignent de son histoire particulière de ville thermale de l’aristocratie européenne au 19ème siècle. Contrairement au reste du Tyrol, Merano comptait déjà à l’époque, en plus de nombreuses églises catholiques, une église protestante et une orthodoxe ainsi qu’une synagogue. Depuis quelques années, Merano compte également un centre bouddhiste et un espace de prière musulman.

Les bâtiments religieux et églises de Merano remontent du Moyen Âge jusqu’au 20ème siècle et reflètent l’évolution des époques et des styles architecturaux depuis l’église romane à triple abside jusqu’à l’église paroissiale de style gothique. Ces sites sont toujours utilisés actuellement de diverses manières et peuvent être visités à titre individuel ou dans le cadre d’une visite guidée de la ville.
