Some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region lead from the Deutschnonsberg to the
Le Maddalene mountain range on the border between South Tyrol and Trentino. As an outer part of the Ortler-Cevedale group, Le Maddalene are wild and primitive but moderate in height. Because of these peculiarities, international mountain races take place here every year, the most famous being the 44.5 km Maddalene SkyMarathon. As part of the MaddaleneSky Marathon, two runs are featured: the classic SkyMarathon, with a distance of 45 km, and the trail run Maddalene Mountain Race with a distance of 25 km. Both mountain runs start from the village center of Senale/Unsere Liebe Frau im Walde.
The famous panoramic view from the Le Maddalene overlooking the peaks of Laugen and Ilmenspitz, Hochwart and Cima Binagia is worth experiencing during every season and time of year.
