Long known for its medicinal properties, the dandelion also has a wonderful taste. It thrives in the ideal conditions of the Alta Val di Non/Deutschnonsberg area, and there is also a local festival dedicated to it.
The Dandelion Weeks have been held annually since 1996 and is one of the oldest specialized food fairs in South Tyrol.
There are guided tours to farms specializing in aromatic herb cultivation, dinners at the Bunker in the Gampen Gallery, and hiking excursions in search of these plants. These and other family-friendly events form part of the Dandelion Weeks Program. There are also a variety of live music performances, games and dancing, and tastings of numerous dandelion specialties. Experts conduct seminars on topics such as Herbs and Health.
