Film in Italian: Machan

Manoj and his childhood friend Stanley tried several times, unsuccessfully, to obtain visas to move to Germany and find work so that they could support their families in Sri Lanka. Upon learning that Germany would be delighted to invite the Sri Lankan national handball team to a tournament in Bavaria, Stanley sets about putting together a team from among his acquaintances – all men relegated to the margins of society – and as word begins to spread, more and more people eager to leave a life of hardship behind and make a name for themselves join the team. The film is inspired by a true story.
