Workshop Mini-terrarium - a glass garden

A terrarium in a glass forms its own ecosystem and, if set up properly, is practically maintenance free and only needs to be watered once or twice a year. Step by step, under the guidance of our gardener Judith, you will be planting your own mini terrarium to take home with you. A perfect gift, and a wonderful way to express your creativity.

The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff can be reached from the train station by taking the bus lines 1B and 4.

You can easily reach the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle by bike by following the Sissi Path via the Summer Promenade. Please note that cycling is not allowed on the Winter Promenade. The Summer Promenade is a gravel path, but from Kirchsteig onwards the route is paved. Some lanes are narrow, so please ride slowly and carefully. The path is shared by both cyclists and pedestrians, so please be mindful of others.

Bring a glass jar with lid (approx. 30-40 cm. high) and 2-3 mason jars with lids. The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle will supply all other materials.

Almost all of the paths running through the gardens are wheelchair and stroller friendly; all stairs and grades over 8% are marked on the overview map. In the Visitors’ Center, manual and electric-powered wheelchairs are available for visitors, free of charge.
