Ice skating is a great way of finding out which family member can keep their balance! In Merano and the surrounding villages there are a wide range of possibilities for skating.
Directly in the Merano municipal area is the Meranarena indoor ice rink as well as the outdoor rink in front of Merano's thermal baths. The latter is only open during the Christmas period. Val Senales has two outdoor rinks in the villages of Madonna di Senales and Certosa. The natural ice rinks in the soft-mobility winter sports resort of Plan and on the nostalgic San Vigilio plateau near Lana inspire romantics and nature lovers. Other ice rinks can be found in Val d’Ultimo near the Schwemmalm ski resort near Pracupola and in the centers of Scena and Tirolo.
