Vellauer Felsenweg - rock trail Vellau

Breathtaking route for experienced walkers (and those with a head for heights!). Hike along the Vellauer Felsenweg and Hans Friedensweg trails, a hike on narrow pathways along steep, rocky slopes with magnificent views of the Etschtal / Val d’Adige.

Directions

The starting point of this hiking tour is the centre of Dorf Tirol. From there the route leads to Tyrol Castle and onwards towards St. Peter. Before reaching St. Peter the track branches to the right towards the Schneeweisshof. From there a track leads through the mixed forest up to Vellau. Just above the Oberlechner inn, is where the Vellauer Felsenweg begins. This narrow path is partially secured with steel ropes and ends at the Hochmuth mountain station. From here take the cable car back to Dorf Tirol.
