Tesimo and the castle village of Prissiano

The castle village of Prissiano/Prissian and the villages of Tesimo/Tisens, Narano/Naraun, Caprile/Gfrill, Plazzoles/Platzers and Grissiano/Grissian are unique gems of yesteryear. In the past, the aristocracy and bourgeoisie visited the area for summer relaxation and hiking.

The Fahlburg, Wehrburg, Zwingenburg and Katzenzungen Castles, Pfeffersburg Ruins (also Casatsch) and the Holz Castle ruins are all privately owned and actively used. The medieval Wehrburg Castle is now a hotel. Weddings and other events are celebrated in the Renaissance Katzenzungen and Fahlburg Castles, where the minstrel Oswald von Wolkenstein was once held in captivity. The Versoaln vine, the largest and possibly oldest grapevine in the world, grows in the vineyards at Katzenzungen Castle.
