An easy mountain hike to a beautiful panoramic summit.

Starting point: Prantach – 7th hairpin bend

End point: Prantach – 7th hairpin bend

Refreshment option: Pfandler Alm Alp

Directions

Your hike starts at the parking area of Pfandler Alm Alp (1,125 m), above St. Martin in Passeier. Follow the historic trail No. 1/E5 through the forest up to Pfandler Alm Alp (1,350 m). From the alpine hut, the trail passes the famous hiding place of Andreas Hofer and continues through the forest. The forest trail is steep in places and crosses the forest road several times. At a junction where the forest roads split, turn right and stay on trail No. 1/E5.

The route alternates between steep forest sections and forest roads, eventually leading you to the alpine meadows of the Prantacher Mahder. Passing an old hay hut, the trail continues steeply through the forest and then climbs across alpine meadows. In the final section, leave the E5 and follow trail No. 1 directly to the summit of Riffelspitze (2,061 m).

The descent follows the usual ascent route back to the parking area.

The trail is not suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
