Route description
From the Oberöberst parking lot in Vernuer/Vernurio, head to the west. The route initially runs across a grassy stretch before entering some woodland. Continue over a steep ridge up to an intersection beneath the Hahnenkamm (21a) mountain. Follow the route northwest, and then gradually bear north (without any noticeable incline) across a slope into the valley until you reach the fields of the Untere Obisellalm nountian pasture, which were left to grow wild (21). From there head (northwest) up to the quaint Obere Obisellalm mountain pasture, which is situated on a small rise above the Obisellsee mountain lake (5).
From the refuge follow the well-defined trail, which then crosses rocky terrain and some steep grassy slopes up to a ridge. You are now within reach of the Hochwart summit cross, standing at an elevation of 2,452 m.
