Sandwirt in St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo

The Sandwirt is the birthplace of the Tyrolean freedom fighter, Andreas Hofer. Today an inn stands on the location, with the farmhouse parlor of the old inn building particularly worth seeing.

• Bus line 240 from Pfelders/Plan, Moos/Moso, St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo towards Merano/Meran

• Coming from the Jaufenpass/Passo Giovo towards Merano/Meran, take the Jaufenstraße/via Passo Giovo SS44 to Sandhof, shortly after St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo 

• Coming from the Timmelsjoch/Passo Rombo towards Moos/Moso, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße/Via Passo del Rombo to Sandhof, shortly after St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo 

• Free public parking at the MuseumPasseier (Sandwirt) in St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo
