Trailrun - on historical traces

General description
The tour on "historical traces" is a challenging trail running tour, past centuries-old farms, the burnt-down old Heilbronn hut and the reservoir built in the 1960s.
Route description
The starting point is in Vernagt at the lake at 1,700 metres above sea level, continue along the meadow path up to the Tisenhof farm and along path no. 7 past the Finailhof farm and on towards Kurzras. Then walk along the main road for 1 kilometre out of the valley to the Kofelhöfe farms, where you turn right onto hiking trail no. 5. From there, the trail climbs through dense forest for around 200 metres up to the Lagauntal valley at 2,170 metres above sea level, where you cross a bridge and turn right immediately afterwards. There are 4 hairpin bends through the forest up to a high plateau above the Lagauntal valley. From here, a path with stone steps winds its way up to the Taschenjöchl at 2,769 metres above sea level. After a brief view of the beautiful lakes in the Schlandrauntal valley down from the burnt-down Heilbronnerhütte, continue left towards the Bergl Alm. The path winds gently downhill over high alpine terrain and later over alpine pastures. Once you reach the Bergl Alm, turn right over a few terrain crossings and across alpine pastures towards the reservoir. As soon as you reach the reservoir, the trail enters a dense forest, which you cross over roots and stones until you reach the dam wall.
