Using public transport in Parcines

How to use our public transport

Public bus number 213 runs regularly from the centre of Parcines village to Merano town centre or the railway station. The buses have a space for wheelchairs.
In Rablà and Tel we recommend the train, the Val Venosta Valley Railway, which provides a special section of a carriage for passengers using wheelchairs (there are signs identifying the carriage on the outside). The train runs to Merano or in the direction of the Val Venosta valley as far as Malles.
On all other public transport in Parcines and the surrounding area, it is only possible to transport wheelchair users in buses that are specifically marked as being suitable and subject to the space available.

Note: please do not forget to buy a ticket! Only people resident in South Tyrol with an acknowledged civil invalidity level of at least 74% may use public transport free of charge.

More information on the public transport network and timetables can be found here: https://www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/
Wheelchair users can use marked parking spaces for an unlimited period of time. Your disability badge must be clearly visible through the vehicle’s windscreen.

Restricted traffic areas: the blue wheelchair sign at the entrance to a restricted traffic area indicates that vehicles with a disability badge are exempt from the restrictions.

Please note: there are separate rules in Merano and Bolzano. You will only be authorised to drive in the designated zone if you have first lodged details of your disability badge and vehicle registration number with the local authorities. You can fill in an application for authorisation online on the Merano and Bolzano municipal authority websites. Entry to the restricted traffic zones is monitored by video and is strictly controlled.
