In winter, the Ultental Valley offers a pristine snow-covered landscape beyond the cleared winter hiking trails. Numerous possibilities for ski tours and snowshoe hikes lead all the way up to the high peaks of the Ultental. The Schwemmalm ski area offers 25 snow-guaranteed kilometers of slopes and a beautiful cross-country ski run along the valley floor.
Other popular winter activities include sledding, ice skating and paragliding. Even in winter, some mountain huts and inns are open, serving traditional South Tyrolean cuisine.
