Refreshment option: alpine pasture Flecknerhütte
From the "Römerkehre", the last hairpin bend below the Jaufenpass, follow trail no. 12a towards alpine pasture Flecknerhütte. The trail leads you to the hut, before you return to the "Römerkehre"along the same route.
Wear warm, weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy and waterproof hiking boots and, if necessary, traction aids such as microspikes or crampons. Walking poles can provide additional support on snowy and slippery trails.
• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to the "Römerkehre" (last hairpin bend before the Jaufenpass)
• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards Meran, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to the "Römerkehre" (last hairpin bend before the Jaufenpass)
• Coming from the Timmelsjoch towards Moos, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße to St. Leonhard and then ont the Jaufenstraße SS44 to the "Römerkehre" (last hairpin bend before the Jaufenpass)
Always stay on marked trails, check the current weather and snow conditions before setting off, and take particular care on icy, slippery or snow-covered sections.
Take enough water and food with you and plan your hike so that you return before it gets dark.
