Philosophical café - Il conflitto in german language
Why does humanity keep waging war despite all its knowledge? Is violence in our nature or merely a cultural legacy? Free admission. In italian language.
Philosophical Café introduced and moderated by Camilla Stirati, graduate in philosophy.
Since the beginning of humanity, history has always been marked by wars and conflicts. Why, although aware of the evil it represents, has war always been an ineradicable fact? Is the violent nature something constitutional to man or is it a cultural superstructure?
To this question, from ancient Greece to the present day, many have attempted to give an answer, without, however, finding firm points on which it is possible to agree. Among them, Carl Gustav Jung, who lived at the height of the Second World War, introduced and invited us to reflect on the concept of the Shadow, that dark area of our psyche that needs to be listened to and integrated. The penalty for this failure is the transfer of inner conflict to the outside world.
The meeting is open to the public and no specific preparation is required to participate, just the desire to question oneself, without prejudice.
