Törggele Hike in Algund: from Vellau to the “Oberplatzer”
Once the grape harvest is over, our fifth season begins: "Törggele season." This week, our hike leads up to the mountain inn "Oberplatzer," where we will enjoy the fruits of the harvest. Starting from Vellau (950 m), we walk up to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity and follow the gently ascending forest trail. Along steeper switchbacks, the trail continues upward to the Hauser Hof, and after about one and a half hours of climbing, we reach the mountain inn "Oberplatzer" (1,310 m), where we stop for refreshments. Of course, a classic Törggele menu is not to be missed at this stop. After a leisurely break, the descent trail leads us back to Vellau.
You can reach the meeting point conveniently by bus line 235 from the town hall at 10:35 a.m., or by your private car. Parking spaces are available on-site.
