General description
A varied loop hike packed with nature, views and local legends: via Vertigen, the route reaches the Partschins/Parcines irrigation channel path, then climbs onto the Trail of Legends with cup-marked stones and witch stories (detailed information is available at the tourist offices). Along the way you’ll pass farms and places to stop for refreshments—before finishing with a true highlight: the Partschins/Parcines Waterfall. A great round hike for the whole family.

Partschins – Partschins irrigation channel path – Trail of Legends – Restaurant Prünster – Restaurant Wasserfall – Partschins/Parcines Waterfall – Restaurant Birkenwald – Winklerhof farm inn – Partschins
Start at Partschins town centre (bus terminus). Head east on trail 7A uphill to the Partschins irrigation channel path (Partschinser Waalweg), then follow it westwards towards Salten. Shortly before reaching Salten, turn right onto the Partschins Trail of Legends, climbing past prehistoric settlement and ritual sites and cup-marked stones to Ebnerhof farm (full information available at the tourist offices).
Continue uphill through the forest, first on trail 1 and then on trail 23 to the restaurant Prünster (1,196 m). From here, trail 23 descends gently past the restaurant Wasserfall to the Partschins/Parcines Waterfall (97 m / 1,060 m).
Descend on trail 8B to the restaurant Birkenwald. Then follow the waterfall road briefly (left first, then turning right) and continue on route marking 1 to Winklerhof farm inn (642 m). Turn left, cross the suspension bridge, and follow trail 39 back to Partschins, returning to the bus terminus.
Return by bus
Alternatively, you can take bus line 265 from the Partschins/Parcines Waterfall back to Partschins, saving around 40 minutes of walking time.
