Strauben are a beloved sweet speciality made with simple ingredients: 250 g flour, 250 ml milk, 3 eggs, 30 g melted butter, 1 tbsp sugar, a pinch of salt and a little rum. Fried until golden and served with icing sugar and cranberry jam, they bring the authentic flavours of South Tyrol straight to your table.👩‍🍳

Chestnuts have been part of South Tyrolean culture for centuries. 🌰
The region’s mild climate and sunny slopes provide ideal conditions for chestnut trees. In autumn, the ripe chestnuts fall to the ground, where they are collected and processed. Traditionally, they are roasted over an open fire during “Törggelen” and enjoyed together with young wine and regional specialities.

The Alpine Cattle Drive is one of South Tyrol’s most beloved autumn traditions. 🐮⛰
After spending the summer months on the high alpine pastures, cattle are decorated with flowers, bells and traditional ornaments before their return to the valley. This special moment marks the end of the grazing season and is celebrated with music, local delicacies and village festivals, reflecting the deep connection between agriculture, culture and mountain life.
